About Me
Luke Chandler Pierce
Who am I?
I was born and raised in Glasgow. Barren County has always been home to me. I was blessed to be born to older parents in 2005 as an only child. I have become known by several as an old soul in a young person's body. I thank God he wired me that way.
I have had several different career aspirations throughout my youth, from nurse to banker, funeral director to journalist; the one that was always in the back of my mind, even from Kindergarten, was being a preacher. Pursuing this calling in my life, I will attend Southern Seminary/Boyce College to receive a Master's in Divinity and a Bachelor's in Business Administration.

My Testimony
In March 2020, when the world turned upside down, my eyes were opened. It was during those early weeks of shutdowns that God revealed to me that I wasn’t living the life he called me to.
I was saved at CentriKid church camp at the age of 11; however, during that period from 11-14, my spiritual growth plateaued. I was stuck going through the motions - going to church every time the doors were open, etc. My life looked good on the outside, but I wasn’t in daily communion with God.
I feel like when the whole world stopped, school was canceled, stuck at home, and nowhere to go; God did that on purpose. He removed all the distractions that I had used in the past. I had the opportunity to be in daily communion with God. During that time, I believe God started preparing me for the future years to come.
In October of 2021, following the resignation of the only Senior Pastor I had ever known, the Associate/Student Pastor of 16+ years barely lost the vote for the pastorate.
This was a rough time for our church. In December of that year, that Associate/Student Pastor announced his resignation. I became angry with God. It hurt. My biggest role model and mentor was leaving the church. The deflation of that entire family was so devastating to view.
In the middle of December of that year, due to the unfortunate circumstances mentioned above, I became the newest staff member at Calvary Baptist Church. I worked and continue to serve as the director of media, communications, technology, etc.
During the early weeks of this time Hebrews 13:8 kept speaking to me. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
The Holy Spirit gave me peace and comfort in what was happening in our church. He gave me peace and comfort in the plans he had for all the families affected. He gave me peace and comfort for the plans he had for my life.
Through these words of Paul, the Holy Spirit reminded me of God’s sovereignty and providence.
Early in my time on staff, I witnessed the backend of how ministry works in the life of the local church.
In March of 2022, God began to impress on me the plans he had for me in the future. That is something I briefly/shallowly shared with others.
In the spring of this year, I shared my heart and how I’ve felt the Lord working in me with Pastor Stan and Pastor Cory, Senior Pastor and Student Pastor, respectively. These two gentlemen of God have been a blessing in my life during this key time.
As I have been wrestling/discerning it the past couple of years, sharing that and seeking counsel the past couple of months, at the beginning of this summer, I was able to participate and attend a student revival. On the second to final night, I felt the call to respond during the invitation; however, I put it off as I was running slides, using that as my excuse. The whole next day, the Lord was at great work in my life. During the same time of the service on the final night, I opposed using any excuse and went to the altar in tears.
During that time, I surrendered my life to whatever the Lord had for me to build up His kingdom. As I am still prayerfully discerning, I strongly believe the Lord is calling me to vocational ministry.
On September 10, 2023, I was blessed with the opportunity to preach my first-ever sermon to the people of Zion Baptist Church in Hardyville (Rex), KY.
This is just a glimpse of the Lord's work in my life. I'm thankful for the opportunity to share my testimony, as it is something every believer is called to do.
"Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul." - Psalm 66:16 (ESV)
